2003 Plans

DBHA conducted the second selection trials for both boys and girls in the u-17 age group on November 9-10, 2002. An additional 20 boys and 16 girls have been taken into the academy.

As a part of its efforts to promote hockey at the grassroots level, DBHA is coaching boys in the age group 10 to 15 years at the Jain International Residential School. DBHA has also started coaching at the Vidya Niketan Free School at Kanakapura, and has provided the students with free kits and coaching.

Future plans include expanding the coaching effort to include a few more schools in Bangalore city, and also in the state of Karnataka. Finally, plans are underway to start training under floodlights, to give exposure to trainees to international playing conditions.
