Why Sponsor Hockey?
Just like Brazil is associated with exciting soccer, and basketball with USA and its dream teams, India has become synonymous with artistic and attractive hockey.
For India, hockey is more than just a game, it's our national heritage! In no other sport has India won 8 Olympic gold medals, 1 world championship and 2 Asian Games gold medals.
The first Indian sports teams to ever set foot in Australia/New Zealand (1926), Europe (1928), and USA (1932) were the Indian hockey teams. When India won the 1928 Olympic hockey title on debut, that was the first gold medal won by any team from Asia.
The legends, myths and aura surrounding Indian hockey go on and on.
