Kuala Lumpur World Cup - 1975
Pakistan had beaten India in the 1971 World Cup, but lost to India in the 1973 World Cup. Whose turn would it be in Kuala Lumpur?

In a dream final, with millions following back home on the radio, India came back from a 0-1 deficit at half-time to beat Pakistan 2-1 and win its only World Cup title.

This was the first and only time that India and Pakistan met in a World Cup final that electrified both nations.

Hockey in India got a whole generation of young fans by that one world title.

This photograph was taken in Chandigarh prior to the team's departure for Kuala Lumpur.

Manager Balbir Singh Sr. is in the center. To his right is coach Gurcharan Singh Bodhi. Captain Ajitpal Singh is fourth from right (all standing).
