1. Metropolitan Cities
In the enhanced version of PHL Season II, i.e., the proposed Hockey Bharata tour, ESPN-Star will provide live telecasts from the following 5 metropolitan cities of India:
| City | Tournament | Venue | Type |
| Mumbai | Aga Khan Tournament | Bombay Gymkhana | Grass |
| Kolkata | Beighton Cup | Calcutta Cricket & Football Club | Grass |
| Chennai | Madras Cricket Club Gold Cup | Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium | Artificial Turf |
| Delhi | Jawaharlal Nehru Tournament | Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium | Artificial Turf |
| Hyderabad | Tour Championship | Gachibowli Stadium | Artificial Turf |
Presently, Hyderabad is the only venue in the above list with broadcast-quality floodlights. Chennai will also get international-quality floodlighting in time for the 2005 Champions Trophy, which it will host in December.
2. Mid-Metro Cities
In the proposed Hockey Bharata tour, ESPN-Star will provide edited telecasts from the following 4 mid-metro cities of India:
| City | Tournament | Venue | Type |
| Lucknow | K. D. Singh Babu Tournament | K. D. Singh Babu Stadium | Artificial Turf |
| Bhopal | Obaidullah Khan Gold Cup | Aishbagh Stadium | Artificial Turf |
| Coorg | All India Kodagu Cup | Madikeri Hockey Stadium | Grass |
| Jalandhar | Surjeet Memorial Tournament | Surjeet Stadium, Burlton Park | Artificial Turf |
The Elite and Hockey Heartland tournaments, conducted in mid-metro cities and towns in India's hockey hotbeds, will be the ones most likely to be sold out. A packed house, filled with a knowledgeable hockey crowd, will play well on television.
3. How Hockey Bharata Venues Compare With PHL Season I
The sole venue of PHL Season I, the Gachbowli Stadium in Hyderabad, was at a location cut off from the main city. It proved difficult to get a large number of repeat fans for a month-long league of only 5 teams.
In contrast, the Hockey Bharata tour will be telecast from 5 metropolitan cities, and 4 mid-metro cities located in the hockey heartland of India. The 9 different venues will have varying fan behaviour in the stands and varying promotional activities like half-time shows. It is this diversity in the venues that will lend strength and colour to the proposed Hockey Bharata tour.
