Executive Summary

There are 20 artificial turf hockey pitches in all of India. None of these pitches have floodlights! In contrast, England alone has more than 600 artificial turf pitches. Our upcoming juniors learn their hockey on muddy, dusty and uneven grass fields, instead of tournament-grade all-year, all-weather artificial turf pitches.

Having an artificial turf field will result in the ability to conduct inter-university, junior and senior national hockey championships, host national level coaching camps in various age groups, and even invite international teams for elite tournaments.

At its most basic, this document gives the costing for the import and installation of 6000 square metres of synthetic carpet-like turf for a hockey field in India.

At the other end, this document also describes the elements of an idealized hockey stadium - which include floodlights, electronic scoreboards, giant video screens, etc., all of which make for an enhanced and complete sporting experience.

What we hope gets funded and implemented is that happy middle ground between the minimal and the ideal.
